Every year, primary six pupils across the federation write the National Common Entrance Examination with the hope of being admitted into any of the 104 federal unity schools. This year has been no exemption as the exam has been written and results released. Releasing said results yesterday in Abuja, the Federal Ministry of Education disclosed that two pupils from Anambra State scored the highest marks. According to the Guardian Nigeria–
Acting Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hussaini Adamu said the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu lauded the National Examination Council (NECO) for the prompt release of the results to the state’s ministries of education and NECO zonal offices across the country.
Of the 80,421 candidates that registered for the examination, only 77, 512 of them actually took the examination, held on April 8, 2017 Details of the results showed that two candidates from Anambra State, Emeka-Egbuna Chinecherem C. and Onubogu Chinazom Joyce scored 189 marks out of 200 being the highest marks, while eight candidates scored the least with four marks.
Queens College, Yaba, Lagos recorded the highest subscription with 5524, while the least subscribed college was FGGC, Monguno in Borno State with only 21 candidates.
