#PNN E-MENTORING (Taiwo Akinlami): Beyond Age, What TEENAGER Really Means (2)

Sure you are doing well today. I am glad to be with you again this week discussing your identity as the foundation to living a value-based life. It is my ever-present opinion that value is everything and I believe very strongly that you are learning this universal truth embraced by every champion in the past age and this very age.

The foundation of education is values. As a matter of fact without values, there is no education. What is education to a supposedly educated person who cannot be a responsible citizen, a faithful friend, a dedicated spouse, a trusted business person, a committed social worker and above all a complete human being, in whose heart flows the milk of compassion?

Today, I look at another letter in the word TEENAGER. Letter A means you are Adventurous: your mind yearns for adventure. It is one of the characteristics of transition. Your mind dares many things because you have not made many mistakes.

Where you have made many mistakes, it is either you have not suffered the consequences or you are partially or totally unaware of the consequences of your mistakes. You are at your best when you are able to combine the spirit of adventure and the power of caution and control.

G stands for Geared Towards Pleasure/Pressure: You love pleasure. Your environment capitalizes on this singular need to put pressure on you.  Thus in most cases when your real issues are not carefully identified and properly addressed, you become a victim of peer pressure and tend to bow. Thus you become the target of merchants of vices like pornographies, drugs, alcohol, indecent clothing, negative media, sex, abortion, lesbianism and many more.

I will continue with the other part of the acronyms next week. I am signing out. Before then, note that I am available for interaction on this platform. Do have an INSPIRED week. Stay SMART!
