#PNN E-MENTORING (Yoma Victor): 7 Habits Of Financially Intelligent People – 3

Hello friends, how has our series been for you? If you haven’t read habits 1 & 2, please do so by searching for them using the search box on the home page.

Habits are critical, what I hope to achieve with sharing about these habits is that, we will practice them until they become a part of our character. So that we can do them effortlessly, even without thinking.

The 3rd habit is “Put first things first”. The ability to know what is most important everyday is key. We have so many good looking distractions around us everyday. Putting first things first will help us know:
1. what is IMPORTANT
2. what is URGENT
3. what is IMPORTANT and not URGENT
4. what is URGENT and not IMPORTANT
5. what is both URGENT and IMPORTANT

Basically, we are able to align ourselves in the direction that serves us best.

One great way to start this is to have a daily TO DO list. If you do not set any goals, you evidently will score none. There are so many activities daily screaming for attention, we need to prioritize where we will put in our energy. For many people, they stand the risk of being involved in a lot of activity without productivity. Never confuse activity with productivity. Having a daily to do list helps you to put your energy in activities that are most important.

Put first things first, not for later, but first! Things of utmost importance need to be dealt with first and immediately. Develop a bias for DOING the most important things first and you will realise that the bulk of your results and success is actually tied to a few core activities that you spend most of your time on.
