       Meaning of conflict

Conflict is the breakdown of a harmonious relationship, arising from a clash of interests. It also means disagreement, struggle and quarrel between people. Conflict is natural in every human society. It could occur due to differences in views, opinions and ambitions of the individuals with those of the group.

Types of Conflicts

Conflicts can be classified into two types,; they are:

  1. Peaceful or non-violent conflict: This is defined as a conflict that does not involve the use of force; it could be informed of a disagreement of workers and management over salaries, it is a trade dispute and it is a non-violent conflict because the workers and the management will hold a dialogue to resolve the area of disagreement. Causes of Conflicts in Nigeria

Smith and Mackie (2007) defined it by saying “The self-concept is what we think about the self; self-esteem, is the positive or negative evaluations of the self, as in how we feel about it. A. Definition of Cultism

Cultism can also be called secret cult; it can be defined as an enclosed organized association devoted to the same course. Members of this group always commit themselves to oath and allegiance  which serves as their strong bond.

A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader. Secret cult could therefore be defined as a set of practices, belief system or idea whose essence is known only to the inner members and excessively admired and defended even to the point of laying down one’s life. To learn more, Click here.
