SHOCKING: School Head Boy, 17, Hangs Self Within School Premises In Kwara State

A Senior Secondary School student at Oro Grammar School, Oro, Irepodun LGA of Kwara State, took his own life. Anthony Oyeniyi, 17, hanged himself within the school premises.

The tragic incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Monday. The classmates of the deceased reportedly became worried when they noticed that Oyeniyi was missing. A search party was subsequently organised, and later the lifeless body was found dangling from a tree. 

The school authorities then sent the students home, all school gates were locked, and entrance denied to everyone except security operatives.

The deceased Oyeniyi, a native of Oke-Irimi, Oro, also in Irepodun LGA, was the head boy in the school. The community is now mourning the loss.

The incident was confirmed by the local police, and investigation into the matter has commenced.
