Most students are worried about one thing- Physics. This is one of the most difficult subjects to study…well except for the Science Nerds who like to crack their brains! For the regular [average] student though, Physics sure can give quite the headache especially when it’s time for exams! All those complex and varied mathematical problems, the many equations…gush! But the truth [though] is that Physics is such a fascinating subject to study. I know…I can hear the hiss right from me. But still, Physics is interesting guys. It is one of the core areas of Science which has contributed immensely to helping humanity understand the world around us and advance technologically. If not for anything else, the importance of Physics is one major reason students must love it and therefore study. So in this post, you are encouraged to love the subject and study it by following these helpful tips. Enjoy please…
ALWAYS MASTER THE BASICS FIRST: Physics is said to be based on a number of central theories from which everything else develops. It is therefore very likely that the problems you will have to solve in the exam will be based on these core concepts or a variation of these. Therefore, instead of trying to memorize complex problems, students are advised to simply assimilate the basic concepts and theories which will help them understand the underlying principles and the connection between different subjects.
STRENGTHEN YOUR MATHS SKILLS: This is very imperative because as it has already been mentioned, any student of Physics can easily see that it incorporates many mathematical elements. This [therefore] means that anybody can easily master this subject if only [they] could become adept at tackling multiple formulas and problems. It is therefore advisable that students study Mathematics alongside their Physics as this will help them to improve their management of the formulas and concepts.
SIMPLIFY: Try to simplify the situation as much as possible. The Physics problem you are reading may seem difficult to solve at first. But if only you could take another look at it, you’d begin to analyze that it is easier than you first thought. It is therefore important to remain calm and try to bring the problem to a situation which you are familiar with by simplifying it in your mind.
USE DRAWINGS: One of the best ways to study Physics is through drawings or graphics. Indeed, drawings can be essential when it comes to understanding and studying physics. Therefore, whenever you can, ensure to use a drawing as illustration for concepts. Great Physicists do this all the time!
USE FLASHCARDS TO STUDY: Take note of new words, units of measure, general principles and other concepts that arise. This will help you follow the thread of theory and strengthen the new information which will have positive consequences when faced with problem solving.
