And you would often find samples of Hollywood stars, and even non-stars rocking it on posters hung on walls at your local barber shop. So, why is it making a come-back?
According to Meredith Chesney of The Corner Barber, these kinds of hair designs have been a regular feature of black barbershops for some time. She continues:

Why does it need a new hipster name, now that young, white women are doing them too? Regardless, I love them, and always have.
How Do You Get the Look?
- To get the look, a barber must start by preparing the canvas, or cutting the hair down to the desired length.
- From there, barbers employ a variety of techniques to create the designs — razors, edging clippers, etc. Time and price will determine how complex the design will be.
- Geometric patterns and abstract patterns appear to be the coolest, while the most difficult designs are portraits or realistic images.
These types are usually too much for most people to wear in reality, but some people still go for it; especially when they want to do it in honour of their favourite football clubs by carving the design of their emblems, or their names.
