The Ondo State Police command has detained a 24-year-old man identified as Oladejo Iskilu for allegedly killing a 13-year-old boy, Samson Ibitayo at Oke Agbe in Akoko North East area of Ondo State on New year’s day.
According to report, Oladejo hit the boy with a pestle during an argument at C & S church, Aje quarters of the town.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Wole Ogodo said the mother of the deceased, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ibitayo reported the case at the police station on January 1st, saying that her son was murdered by Iskilu over an argument on the ownership of a tyre meant for roasting a goat.
“An abusive language was used during the argument before a pestle was used on the deceased. The victim sustained serious injury and died later” Ogodo stated, adding that the case had been transferred to state Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the state Police Command for further investigation.
