Could It Be That You Have “Fallen Out of Love”?

Tobi and Rukky thought they were madly in love, as is the case with teenagers to whom exaggeration comes as easily as air. When their eyes met, there seemed to be some unspoken message shared between them, understood only by them. What about when their hands brushed? My! their breath ceased, because it was sheer electric!!
But not since they returned from the long vacation, it seems the smiles are just never bright enough, like a really thick cloud has blocked the sun from shining through. Whatever happened? Has Rukky moved on? Or has Tobi fallen out of love? Is such even possible? Let’s look at some factors that may be responsible.

1. Life Happened
Life is not like the movies or a Cinderella story where two people feel madly, deeply and passionately about each other every day of their lives. Life is really more complicated than that, and it is possible to feel less close to someone because you grew apart, or you found another object of affection. Further, as teenagers, you are still learning about the world and about yourself – and there’s still much to learn about yourself.

So, it should be expected that what you thought was love last term is nothing more than just natural liking this term. Don’t beat yourself up, it’s not like you are married!

2. Forgetting How Great The Other Person Was
By focusing on the things they do that irritate and annoy you, it’s actually easy to forget that you love them.

3. Holding Grudges
Being angry with someone – even those whom you claim to love – sometimes is perfectly normal, but holding a grudge for something that you have talked about, and they have apologized for, or you’ve worked out could be another factor. No loving relationship can be sustained in an atmosphere of resentment.

4. Incompatibility
The first few months of a relationship or a new feeling can fool you into thinking that you get along with someone better than you really do. But over time, real differences emerge. That usually means that as time goes by, and you see the truth, you feel less love for the person. It’s sad, and presents a very good reason to break it up. It could be that you differ on a lot of things that are very important to you.

5. Dishonesty
Nothing makes someone fall out of love faster than feeling lied to or betrayed. If you want to see someone fall out of love with you in minutes, watch what happens when they catch you in a lie. Perhaps, you saw that happen on occasion, and the fire that burned vigorously in your heart was quelled with each lie that tumbled out of their mouth, or each dishonest behaviour that they displayed.

So what next? Do you hope to fall back in love with him/her, or on the other hand, have them fall back in love with you? Keep your eyes peeled on this page.
