We share earth with some amazing, yet terrifying creatures. From the bottom of the ocean to the tops of trees, these scary critters hail from all over the world. Many are very rare or hide out in secluded locations (like the bottom of the ocean) so you’re probably safe from crossing their paths. Probably.

9. Northern Stargazer

This fish usually burrows into the sand, leaving just its creepy face visible.
10. Coconut crab

These are the largest land-living crabs on the planet, can grow up to 3 feet wide and have been known to eat chickens and kittens.
11. Tufted Deer
