EARLY MORNING HABITS TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

The manner you start your day inevitably affects the rest of your day. Even the time you kick start your day affects the rest of your days.

These are nine (9) things to include in your morning routine to have a productive day.

1) ALWAYS START WITH A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP.
Early to bed, early to rise. You know what happens when you don’t get enough sleep. You won’t get the refreshing that comes from sleeping if you don’t get enough sleep. However, when you have a good night’s sleep, you’ll likely want to get out of bed earlier and also with a superb attitude.

2) DON’T FALL INTO THE HABIT OF HITTING THE SNOOZE BUTTON WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF.
We receive rest and refreshing from sleep. Who doesn’t like to rest and get refreshed? No one! Discipline is needed when the alarm goes off very early in the morning. You must resist the urge to snooze the alarm and keep sleeping. It is a terrible habit if imbibed may be hard to break. Always obey the alarm clock.

3) DO NOT STAY CURLED UP IN BED
When you wake up, stretch your body.
Harvard Psychologist Amy Cuddy says stretching out wide (as opposed to being curled up) when still lying in bed is a way to build self-confidence as you launch into your day.
When you wake up, get up and walk around and get rid of sleep from your eyes.

4) STAY AWAY FROM THE INTERNET IMMEDIATELY YOU WAKE UP
The internet is one of the biggest distractions of our time. Trust me. Don’t start your day checking your emails or your social media accounts. Why? The reason is simple. The internet is full of content that will distract you and in the long run, disrupt your plans.

5) OBSERVE A QUIET TIME
Spend time reflecting on the past days, reflect on the dreams you had as well.
Take note of past mistakes and look for ways to avoid them, and ensure you do not repeat them.
Observe a moment of prayer.

6) READ OR LISTEN TO A PODCAST
Reading or listening to a podcast is a powerful morning routine to set yourself up for a productive day. Anything you read or listen to by this time of the day; do not just sticks but also adds to your decision-making process of the day, putting you in a better position of seizing opportunities and maximizing them whenever they come your way during the day.

7) JOURNAL YOUR THOUGHT
The things you got during your quiet time and time of reflection must be journaled or inputted into your diary.
Also as you read and listen to podcasts, put into writing the thoughts that impacted you

8) PLAN YOUR DAY
Make a to-do list, Plan your day, schedule your activities and arrange them according to priority.
This is what helps you boost your productivity and ensures you don’t just make it through the day but that you also achieved your goals and took a step at becoming a better version of yourself.

9) EXERCISE
Another incredible morning routine you need to imbibe to have a productive day is exercising.
Exercises pay huge dividends. In the short term, doing exercises releases hormones that help you achieve more. In the long term, it helps one stay fit and keep sickness at bay!
