50,000 Students Write 2015 Cowbell Secondary School Mathematics Competition Test

Cowbell has reiterated its commitment to boost the study of Mathematics among students stating that Mathematics is the bedrock of Science and technology. Speaking at the first stage examination for NASSMAC held at the Immaculate Heart Secondary School, Maryland, Mr Abiodun Ayodeji , Category Manager Dairy said:

‘’the Cowbell Secondary School Mathematics Competition encourages the study of mathematics because mathematics is the bedrock of Science which is the bedrock of innovation.’’

At the centre in Maryland, no fewer than 50000 students from junior and senior secondary schools nationwide wrote the examination under strict supervision of invigilators.

According to him, in Nigeria, NASSMAC has 184 centres in various states of the federation and in the FCT, Abuja where the examination are held. Ayodeji who disclosed that the prizes of the competitions have been increased by 62 per cent, noted that the total prize money have moved from N350, 000 to N750, 000 for the first prize. While second prize winner is to get N500, 000.

To further take the campaign of mathematics to students, Ayodeji averred that Cowbell has started a radio programme on 15 channels. According to him, they are doing all this because ‘if we nourish them with our Cowbell product, why can’t we nourish their brain too?’ He said: ‘’The topics taught during the programme follow the school syllabus so that when you listen to the programme there is no way you will not improve in mathematics.
