As parents, educators, and volunteers who work with youth, we probably think that today’s youth live in a complex world—one that may prove to be more challenging than when we were teenagers. Teens may be especially confused and misinformed by media-based myths about sexuality and sex role behaviours. It is not uncommon to see images of sexual behaviour on TV shows that teens prefer and hear explicit sexual lyrics in the songs they listen to.
We can see the effects a sexually charged culture has on the daily lives of adolescents. Sex as portrayed in the media translates into clothing styles as well as behaviours. Teen girls may wear tight clothes that emphasise curves, wear heavy makeup, and show more skin than necessary in their daily wears.
One of the unfortunate offshoots of our culture’s obsession with sex is problems with sexual harassment and rape. These harm the sexual integrity of teens in their peer relationships. A definition of sexual harassment is unwelcome attention of a sexual nature, occurring through verbal and/or physical interaction. Rape is the unlawful compelling of a person through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse. Being a victim of either of these is likely to affect a teen’s academic performance or work ability and may create a hostile or threatening atmosphere. In fact, sexual harassment/rape coming from one teen to another is a type of bullying and should be totally discouraged.
Why there are many causes of sexual harassment and rape, one seems to be more pronounced – Indecent dressing by teen girls.
Everywhere you turn to nowadays, indecent dressing seems to be so rampant. It seems to be a cancer that has eaten deep into every nook and cranny of our society. What I really don’t get is ladies’ motive when they say they want to look sexy, and dress as such. Even some school uniforms are so indecently sewn that you wonder if they are actually worn by students.
As subtle as it may seem, it is critical for teenagers to dress appropriately. Dressing could be considered indecent once it reveals parts of the body that are supposed to be covered. By this I mean the Bra, cleavage, Belly, Butts and thighs. The fact is guys find these areas of a lady to be attractive, and could be tempted too by mere seeing them.
Psychologists say that guys are rather moved by what they see. To a very large extent, many attest that this is true. Hence indecent dressing can lead to rape and sexual harassment.
Why girls might argue that they have right to whatever they wear, they should know that sexual harassers and rapists damn consequences and disregard human rights when they are at their highest level of temptation.
Trust me, the effects of rape/sexual harassment are really enormous for any teenager to handle. Don’t let your dressing make you a victim.
Don’t wear your shorts or skirts too short (anything higher than two inches above the knee is too short because when a girl sits down, it gets even shorter). And try to keep your private parts as private.

Everything is generally wrong with it because:1)it’s degrading.I mean people get the wrong impression about the person in miniskirt
2)it is one of the top reason why rape occurs
THESE AND MORE ARE THE REASONS WHY MINISKIRT IS WRONG
I recommend this article for an award. Really nice
I like the question the author asked by he doesn’t understand what girls mean by being sexy. When you are sexy, then you should be ready for sexual appeal towards you
Dat is so correct
