Forget the Hype: 5 Reasons It’s Better You Remain Single on Valentine’s Day

If you are single, you need not worry or hurry to find a special love before Val’s Day. There are a number of cogent reasons you should remain single and happy during this season. You should not feel sad because you don’t have a ‘special love’. In fact if you look very well, you will realize that you already have enough special love. Don’t let the burden of paring off with one person ruin the joy of sharing with loved ones who have stood by you through thick and thin. Here are 5 reasons you should remain single through this season, you’d be saving yourself a lot.

  1. You will save time and effort: You don’t have to bother about spending hours with a date or going through the hustle-bustle of that rowdy day.
  2. You don’t have to fake anything: Ever experienced a failed SURPRISE! attempt. Probably the surprise flowers disgust you or the gift makes you feel horrible but you just have to fake that you were surprised and you love the gift.
  3. You can save yourself any let down: Have you ever been on a date that you would’ve rather chewed off your arm than continued fake smiling and pretending to be interested in the other person? No thank you! Even dinner at a 5-star restaurant is not worth that torture. Doing dinner with a single friend or a group of friends, or even sitting alone doing a crossword, would be the preference there!
  4. Save the money for college: Valentine comes with a lot of pressure to impress. You want to get new outfits of certain colours, that must match with a new bag and pair of shoes (all with touch of res)… and this you go through to impress just one person – not yourself or a family that already loves you just the way you are. Why not save the money for college.
  5. You will have more fun alone: You don’t have to go on a forced date. This can be awkward. You have the choice to spend your night with other single friends out on the town, having a dinner parties and even meeting new people who will improve your life.

As a single, you should be proud. You have the liberty to indulge in wholesome activities. You are not under any compulsion, placed by a date, to go to that eatery you think is horribly or engage in activities you are not cool with. You can enjoy this valentine as a single with friends and family, you can go see a movie of your choice. So relax, don’t hurry to find a date by all means – that’s not a wise move. Then in an attempt to save the day, your valentine is ruined.
