Phubbing!!! What Does This Mean?

Phubbing is a term coined to describe the habit of snubbing someone in favour of a mobile phone. Phubbing refers to “phone snubbing,” or when your attention is on your phone rather than the people surrounding you.
In today’s day and age, it can be hard to stay up-to-date on the most recent wording young people/teenagers are utilizing. “Phubbing” is by all accounts one of the most recent additions to this broad list. As indicated by a recent study, those with a higher connection to their  mobile phones have a more elevated amount of conflict in their relationships than those with less connection.

Centering your concentration on your mobile phone isn’t such an awful thing, in any case, sometimes it can be harder to correspond with individuals face-to-face when all your attention is centered around your  mobile phone.

Phubbing has lots of disadvantages and one of it is that it causes conflict in relationships and friendships. Talking on the phone or texting while hanging out with a partner or friend clearly demonstrates that the people in the device take precedence at the moment: they deserve immediate attention, implying their time is more valuable. It’s a small way of taking someone for granted, making them wait while you attend to other matters. This is common among teenagers and young people and can be quite annoying especially when your friend has sacrificed time to be with you.
Phubbing could impact our brains. A technology obsession can lead to sleep deprivation, social isolation, disappointment and depression through a major reinvestment of interpersonal enjoyment redistributed into a pseudo-relationship with a screen or device. What’s more, spending too much time on the internet will make us lose connection with real relationships with our family, spouses and friends.

On the average, 87% of teens would rather communicate via text than face-to-face. During dinner sessions, young people sometimes spend so much time with their phones than with the meal being served and there after complain that the food is cold.

Phubbing can be such a bad habit. Don’t be a victim.
