According to Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios and frequent PlayStation spokesperson, work on an “official application” for Remote Play support on PC and Mac is underway.
This may be as a result of the release of Windows 10, which included a feature to stream Xbox One games. Currently, Remote Play is supported on the PlayStation Vita handheld and the PlayStation TV micro-console, so the addition of both PC support would greatly extend the utility of the feature.
Though, Yoshida didn’t provide any details, as to whether or not the streaming is limited to your in-home network, or whether the feature would work over the internet, or when this application is expected to be released.
But it seems Sony’s hands have been forced by their gaming rivals Microsoft, and the feature that makes it possible to stream Xbox games on Windows 10 powered PCs.
