Saying Thank You To Your Parents During This Christmas Season

Its the Yuletide season and there is so much love in the air. In the course of the year, your parents have done a lot for you including paying school fees, feeding and giving you all you want and need. Don’t you think it will be nice of you to give them something back in return to say THANK YOU for all their efforts in making you the best they can and in giving you the best of education and things you need.

Let’s start this way, one thing you should have in mind is that whatever you’re giving doesn’t have to be expensive, it doesn’t have to be so big and it doesn’t have to be cash. It can be a little act of kindness, It can be saying thank you orally. I’m sure whatever little thing you give them or do for them in order to say thank you, they will definitely appreciate it. It isn’t compulsory but its a show of affection and love and who knows, you might even get more things and a special Christmas gift from them because of this show of appreciation and love from you.

Ways To Say Thank You

  1. Wake up early in the morning and do all the house chores. I’m sure your mum will be particularly excited about this since its a holiday period and you don’t have to be in school.
  2. Girls – Helping out in the kitchen. Mum has been doing this alone, Why not join her in the kitchen and ease her stress. That way you help mum and you help yourself, I’m sure you will learn a thing or two about cooking at the end of the day.
  3. Boys – Help Dad clean and was his car. Do it together like a father son thing and I’m sure Dad will always look forward to this special kind of bonding between both of you.
  4. Dad and Mum might still be going to work while you’re on holiday, Why not give them a surprise breakfast before they rush off to work. Something nice and simple, could be Bread and Tea, Cracker Biscuit and Tea or Toast. Your parents will be so excited if you this. Its gonna turn out to be a nice surprise because they wont be expecting it.
  5. Hand Made Card. Get to a small store around you and buy a card board paper and marker. Design a hand made card for your mum or dad with the words THANK YOU MUM/ DAD. I appreciate all you’ve done for me.
  6. Buy a small gift. You don’t have to buy something expensive. If you have elder siblings or aunts, you can simply tell them to help you get Dad a tie/pen or Mum a fashionable scarf/ A mug that has the inscription “I LOVE YOU MUM” on it . Just about anything small to show your appreciation.
  7. You can compose a Poem. Compose a Thank You Poem. When your parents are together, you sit them down and present your thank you poem  to them. It might sound funny but I bet they’ll appreciate it because its coming form the heart.

Christmas is all about giving, caring and sharing, showing love to one another and appreciating each other. saying thank you during this season especially will mean a lot to them. It also means that you don’t just think them taking care of you is their responsibility but that you understand its a privilege you have them as parents and you are grateful for this opportunity. Also this will encourage them to do more for you.

Try some of the above ways and return back to give a comment about your experience.
