Teenagers, no doubt, always define coolness. I have to give it up to you guys like twale, please! I mean, you come up with the coolest slangs, the catchiest phrases and the trendiest dress codes. Everything you do is cool by nature and the rest of us just struggle to keep up. I must admit I really wish to be as cool as y’all. That’s why I went digging around in search of what’s new in the world of “coolosity” like really. And hereby summarized are the latest according to my findings. Mind you, I am no expert in the field. So I really hope my findings correspond with what currently obtains with you guys. Enjoy.
BEING SMART IS THE COOLEST THING EVER: It’s amazing how every teenager wants to be identified as smart by both his peers and the older ones. To them, being smart is something everyone must aspire to be and I personally agree because nothing can get any cooler than being smart. Smart teenagers can get ahead of others anywhere anytime. They are the ones who go on to accomplish incredible things in their adult lives. So keep being smart; it’s so cool to be smart.
WHATSAPP IS THE IN THING: Everybody is on Social Media these days. But mind you, not all Social Media outlet is as cool as the other. For the teenagers, Whatsapp rules! They spend quality time on the chatting app with their friends every single day and night. As a matter of fact, they wake up thinking- “wait, it’s another day to whatsapp. Oh my gosh…”
FACEBOOK IS LIT: Facebook is still interesting to most teenagers; no doubt. But just as it so happens, most of these young ones are just joining the site for the very first time so to them it’s cool stuff. The thing is that prior to finally joining, they’ve heard incredible stuff about Facebook but never got to use it because they lacked phones. So the moment they get to their own a phones, the first URL that comes to mind is Facebook.com. Cool stuff.

It is not uncommon to see hippy teenagers with their earpieces on and the phones before their faces as they search your neighbourhoods for some pokemon. They can’t help it; it’s cool for them.
SELFIES! OH MY GAWD: Every millennial has taken a selfie at some point in their lives or the other. We are all guilty of this; no doubt. But it seems you teenagers are indeed the “selfie generation”. What can I say…it’s cool to be able to take one’s own picture at every point in time and see yourself looking good! Keep at you guys; selfies are cool, please!
DISOBEYING THE RULES IS COOL? : This is classic teen coolness. You guys hardly ever want to listen to what we old people are telling you. Lol. But seriously though, why would you rather disobey than obey? Don’t you know that respect your elders is the coolest thing ever?
IMMITATING THE CELEBS IS COOL: Most of you desires to be like Olamide, Inyanya, Skales, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Chidinma and the rest of them. To these ones, the celebrities are the perfect epitome of coolness so they desire to be just like them. Well all I can say is that I’m happy for y’all. Keep being cool, everyone.
