The Need For Teenagers To Adopt Healthy Lifestyles

Normally, every teenager seems to have a clean bill of health. Their bodies are young and as such, immunity is strong! And what’s more; they are constantly engaged in physical activity and burning off any excess fat that might cause harm to the body. But in all these, there is still need to inculcate basic healthy living trends in teenagers because the truth is that whatever habits teens grow up living are the habits they will grow old with. And when it comes to living standard, it should be about healthy living all the way.

 That said, every teen must bear at the back of their minds that painstakingly taking care of [their] body is extremely crucial to growing healthily old. And to remain healthy as a teenager and grow old gracefully, what you eat, how you eat, your body mass index and how locomotive you are all play a part. HEALTHY HABITS TO EMBRACE:

Eat healthy by planning a balanced a diet timetable which must consist of a variety of foods. Consider eliminating soda pop and unhealthy snacks from your diet, replacing such with milk and assorted fruits and vegetables. Ensure to eat breakfast every morning and never eat your dinner very late in the night. And mind you, junks aren’t good for your body. And need I overemphasize on the importance of exercise? Move your body, please!

BAD HABITS TO AVOID:

Some people [who smoke and drink] may disagree with me on this; but I advise that every teenager should desist from lifestyles that entail tobacco use, consumption of hard drug and alcoholism. This is because consuming these things can have long-term effects on your health. Therefore, you must ensure to fight against any kind of temptation to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke cigarettes or even try any form of recreational drug.

SEXUAL HEALTH:

Your sexual health should be of uttermost importance to you. Typically, teenagers are told or even required to abstain from sex until they are married. But as you and I well know, this is often not the case. That said, if and when you decide that you are ready for sex, it is pertinent for teenagers (both boys and girls) to ensure they make the right decisions. How far are you willing to go? Are you using the right protection against STDs and unwanted pregnancies? With whom are you even having sex in the first place? These are very important questions which you must ask and answer yourself. Never have you [for once] played with your sexual health. Many lives have been ruined just because of some careless minutes of reckless, sexual abandon. Now, for those who already made such mistakes, it’s always important to seek for help. In any case, abstinence from sex remains your best bet; until at least you are definitely ready to handle the experience and its many likely results.
