What Your Handwriting Says About You

(By Jeff Dunn)

Do you use cursive? Do you know what graphology is? Kerning and slanting? There’s a lot to know about how you draw your letters. Your penmanship says a lot about you. Through the study of it, you can learn a lot about yourself. From rounded letters to pointed letters, it’s interesting to figure out what it means if you dot your i’s a certain way or cross your t’s a certain way.

Did you know that your handwriting could prove you’re lying? If all your words and letters are a bit too bunched up and don’t seem to fall in line with the rest of your writing, that could mean you’re lying. Probably because you’re trying harder on writing that part of the letter than other parts.

If you write with, or prefer, a heavier bolder font that means you’re good with commitment. If you use a lighter font then you are sensitive and a caring person. While I don’t know if any of this is completely accurate, it’s food for thought that has me re-examining my handwriting, penmanship, and also wondering what will happen if we stop teaching cursive in the classroom? Would this guide be used to figure out what your favourite computer-based fonts say about you?
