Hello friends, how have you been? Sorry we missed out on sharing our thoughts here last week. I promise to work hard to ensure that doesn’t happen again.
so, over the past few days, what has captured the attention of the world from Nigeria has been the #BringBackOurGirls campaign; effectively asking that government step up efforts to bring back 200+ secondary school girls who were kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect. I would ask that you put them in your prayers and follow the efforts to bring them back in safety.
This issue brings to my mind the issue of why do we need to be rich and wealthy? Why do we need to be financially free? Why do we need to learn about making money? Is it just to buy expensive clothes? Get a nice car? Live in a mansion? Eat the best food? Why do we need to be rich?
We must understand that we are here on earth for a reason, we are here to be a light and our light is meant to affect, influence and light up the darkness in the world. My mentor calls it, “impact goals”; if all you want to do is be successful for you and your family, think about it again. That in my humble opinion is selfish. We must endeavour to have a deeper reason for wanting to be rich. We must have an impact goal, to have impact in the lives, health, well-being, education, finances, community, etc of people around us.
The more financially free we are, the easier it is for us to be a blessing to others. There is so much more we can do when we develop more than enough capacity for ourselves. We must start thinking this way. Look around you, your church, your mosque, your community, your state, your nation, and begin to look for what you can do to cause a change.
We are blessed (rich and wealthy), to be a blessing to others. Why do you want to be rich?
