Has it ever crossed your mind that most teenagers can barely handle life without friends? For them, friendship is everything. And this explains why most teens would rather spend their time hanging out with friends than with their siblings and much less with their parents. But why really is this the case? Let’s discuss below…
The foremost reason why teenagers cannot seem to live without friends is because they need acceptance. Agreed, the family is precisely the most accepting human entity a person could ever have. Yet, the family can be very critically and judgmental, two things that could easily make a teenager feel unloved and rejected. Friends on the other hand are less critical of one another, more accepting and fun to be around. This explains why most teens if not every teen cannot do without friends.
Another reason why teenagers cannot do without friends is because friends inspire each other to be better, typically influencing one another in positive light. I understand the typical [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][erroneous] belief that friends are misleading to teenagers. While the possibility of being misled by one’s friend abounds, so also do endless possibilities of friends helping each other to become the best they could be. Teenagers know this which explains why they can’t survive without friends.
A good friend can be the best confidant anyone could ever ask for. This is the case even among teenagers. They know the importance of having trustworthy and loyal friends in whom they can confide their secrets. Therefore, they cannot do without true friends.
Friends are so much fun to have and everyone knows this. This therefore explains why teens can’t survive without their friends. They need friends to do exciting things with outside of the home and independently of school activities. Indeed, friendship is the highlight of the teenage years and hardly can any teenager have a meaningful teenagehood without the impact of true friends.
