Sometimes on my way to work, I look around and see children shedding tears as their parents force them into school buses. It isn’t just the toddlers; teenagers are also guilty of going to school grudgingly. Now here is the reason why- most students are weary of schools, unwilling to endure yet another sad and agonizing day in the Classroom. The pertinent question though is why exactly do youngsters hate school? This post shall to x-ray this topic and proffer solutions in order that you may finally have fun in school just as you are supposed to. Enjoy, please!
The foremost reason why students dislike school is because they are forced to wake up so early in the morning. As you may well know, sleep gets a little more interesting early in the morning. Therefore, being woken up to go take a shower and hit the road (all for school) can make for a bad morning which will ultimately make you dislike school overtime. How can you cope with this palaver? Be rest-assured that you will be waking up a lot earlier later in your adult life. Therefore, cultivating the habit now that you are young may [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][perhaps] not be such a bad idea!
The fear of Mathematics is yet another reason why most students hate school. When I was in secondary school, there was this saying that “the fear of Mathematics is the beginning of wisdom”. Well perhaps not so much, because the fear of Mathematics is [indeed] the beginning of hatred for school. Nobody likes Mathematics; well except for a few nerds! And the fact that Mathematics Teachers will definitely embarrass you for failing to solve that equation will make you think twice before going to school. So what is the solution? Try falling in love with the subject, please!
Another reason (and perhaps the most serious one yet) why students hate school is because it is the bullies’ playground. Hardly does a day pass without an innocent student being traumatized by another student. It can range from mere jeers to actual bodily harm. And this can be so bad; trust me. This therefore discourages students from loving school because their tormentors wouldn’t just let them be great. If you ever find yourself in this sort of uncomfortable situation, do not worry because there is a solution. First and foremost, you should speak to your teachers and parents about the bullying. And then learn ways to stand up for yourself.
School work can be quite arduous. Not only are you required to participate during class exercises, you are given many homework and also forced to write tests and exams. Ughhhhhhh!!! Even though the grades may not even reflect how much you actually know, they determine whether or not you will graduate. So much pressure!
It is important to emphasize that another reason most students hate school is because the school system inadvertently kills the morale of students and plunges their self esteems. No thanks to the scoring method of assessing students’ intellectual capabilities, most students are made to feel dumb and sometimes even punished for their failure to make the “As”. There is no doubt that this is usually always done with the intention of encouraging students to improve. But perhaps what is unknown is the fact that it also diminishes the self-worth of the less-performing students, causing them to recoil into self pity. Overtime they will inevitably start to hate school; after all, nobody wants to go to a place where they are made to feel worthless. This is a huge problem the only solution to which will be to overhaul the grading system and replace with a more encouraging one.
My sincerest wish is for every child to fall in love with school. I can only hope that this helps…
