INTERNET SAFETY RULES EVERY KID SHOULD KNOW

As much as the internet has improved the lives of men in numerous ways, there is still a need to take precautionary measures of its use to avoid evil occurrences. Below are internet safety rules every child should be aware of:

  • NEVER DISCLOSE YOUR DETAILS TO STRANGERS.

Personal Information such as a home address, finance, and other related information should not be revealed regardless. Not everyone on the internet is here for genuine reasons.

  • LOOK OUT FOR A SECURED WEBSITE.

Some websites and blogs are not secured.  Hackers could try to retrieve your vital data when you input them on an unsecured website.

  • NEVER DISCLOSE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYBODY.

Passwords should be saved, in a safe place that can be accessible by you. Not everyone has good intentions, and you never know what might happen when you disclose such private data with them.

  • CONFIRM BEFORE SHARING AN INFORMATION

To avoid getting yourself or someone hurt. Carefully validate the source of an information before sharing it on any social media platform.

  • SPEAK TO A TRUSTED ADULT IF THREATENED

Swiftly speak to an adult you trust, If someone online is threatening you. By doing so, security models will be carried out; towards such people.

  • DO NOT MEET UP WITH SOMEONE YOU BARELY KNOW.

As aforementioned, not everyone has good intentions. To avoid ‘had I Known.’ it is much better to avoid making such a mistake.

Internet safety concerns everyone that uses the internet in this digital age, regardless of the age grade. Tell us! Which safety measure would you add to the list?
