Parents Demand Their Children Stay Put In Threatened School Even As Boko Haram Remain Offensive

Federal Government Science and Technical College, Michika Adamawa state, Parents Teachers Associatio, (PTA) has rejected the idea brought forward by the Federal Government of transferring their children to nearby Katsina state for safety from Boko Haram.

After the recent attack on FGC Buni-Yadi in Yobe by Boko Haram, the FG closed down five schools and Federal Government Science and Technical College, Michika was one of those closed down.

The PTA chairman Elijah Kwada revealed that after a long meeting with the parents and teachers, they resolved not to move out of the troubled state but to stay put in Michika.

He said: “We had a meeting on Monday and resolved that our children are not going anywhere”.

He said the parents want and demand for strict security in the school and not moving their children across state lines.

He asked: “How sure are we that even Katsina is safe?”

Mr. Kwada revealed that the children are all with their parents now and the parent will send them to private schools than leave the area.
