The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is finally here! This means manufacturers are in a rush to determine which of their phones will have Google’s latest version of its mobile operating system, and which will be left out!! There are bound to be casualties, but most of the big-name phones will get the update.

SAMSUNG
There is yet to be any official word from Samsung as far as Marshmallow is concerned. There are speculations though that these lists of smartphones are likely to get an upgrade, but nothing is certain yet.

Word from Samsung is expected in the comings weeks, so be prepared to play the waiting game.
In accordance with its 90-day update guarantee, HTC has promised to upgrade a bunch of devices to Marshmallow in the coming months. It cautioned, though, that updates would be predicated on carrier cooperation.

HUAWEI
Chinese phone maker Huawei has announced its Marshmallow list, and it appears few of its handsets will be passed over.
Here are the devices it has committed to upgrading:
- Huawei P8
- P8 Lite
- P8 Youth Edition
- P8 Max
- G8 (Maimang 4)
- Mate 7
- Mate S
- Ascend P7
- G7 Plus
- G7
- Honor 7
- Honor 7i
- Honor 6 Plus
- Honor 6

- Honor 4X

- Play 4C
Huawei said in October that updates will begin rolling out in November, and that it expects to complete all upgrades in early 2016.
When Google revealed the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P — both of which will come with the newest version of Marshmallow, Android 6.0.1, pre-installed — they also announced that the following older Nexus devices would receive the update starting on October 5:
- Nexus 6
- Nexus 9
- Nexus 5
- Nexus 7 (2013)
- Nexus Player
Unfortunately, Marshmallow will not make its way to the Nexus 4, the original Nexus 7, or the Nexus 10. As such, if you have any of these three devices and want some Marshmallow goodness, you will have to turn to rooting your phone (tough luck!)
Motorola is also known for its timely updates in recent years, so it’s not surprising to learn that Motorola will bring Marshmallow to some of its devices early on, which include:
- 2015 Moto X Pure Edition
- 2015 Moto X Style
- 2015 Moto X Play
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the U.S.
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe, and Asia
- 2015 Moto G

ASUS
Asus, in November posted a list of its smartphones that will make the jump to Marshmallow. That list includes:
- Padfone S
- ZenFone 2
- ZenFone 2 Deluxe/Special Edition
- ZenFone 2 Laser
- ZenFone Selfie
The company however did not indicate when owners of the aforementioned devices might expect the upgrade.
LG
LG said on Oct. 14 that the G4 will get Marshmallow incredibly soon. By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of its competitors. LG otherwise remains silent on which of its phones are getting Marshmallow, but support pages on LG Korea’s website may have spilled the beans. Here are the devices they show:
- G4
- G3
- G Stylo
Neither of the aforementioned sources list the G2, unfortunately, but that’s not entirely unexpected: The G3’s predecessor is just over two years old, which is about LG’s cutoff range for updates.
